ABOUT US

TLC Empowerment Institute is registered as a non-religious school under the NC
Department of Non-public Education and is a member of the National Alternative
Education Association (NAEA). Our high school graduation diploma program satisfies
the NC Future Ready Course of Study.

OUR GOAL

The Transforming Lives Center (TLC) Empowerment Institute desires to help you reach your dream of attaining your High School Diploma and reach ‘Economic Sufficiency’ and more! Since 1996, Dr. LeVonder Brinkley-Price, founder and principal has worked above and beyond to educate students and empower them to work through the challenges and roadblocks that have prevented them from attaining the high school diploma. She encourages students to reach their goals and provides support to help them in their future endeavors. In addition to academic success, students study social emotional learning and develop a growth mindset to overcome the limited mindset that previously blocked their success. Students realize that although they cannot change the social-economic status they were born into, they can greatly improve their economic positioning via education and a growth mindset.

OUR SERVICES

  • A High School Diploma Completion program (Must be at least 16 years of age) that can be completed rapidly depending upon work and life experience.
  • Students aged 4-15 begin at their ability level. Often, older students need to learn foundational skills that were not learned in lower grades. We use Acellus Academy because of their vectored lessons and excellent teachers. Vectored education is basically building skill upon skill for a strong and solid foundation. This program is excellent for all students and especially for students with diagnoses for Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder or no disability at all.
